An evening about speaking up: in a meeting, in a pitch, and in a room where nobody looks like you.
Finding your voice is not a personality trait. It is a skill, and like every skill it is easier to learn in a room where somebody has already done it.
So that is what the evening was: speakers who had learned to be heard, an audience who wanted to be, and a long networking hour afterwards where people practised on each other.
